Privacy Policy

Salon businesses use Basic Beauty to run their operations. For the client records a salon enters (clients' names, contact details, visit history, notes), the salon is the controller of that data and Basic Beauty is the processor acting on its behalf. For your own account and the operation of the service, Basic Beauty is the controller.

• Account information — your name, email address, salon name, role, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
• Business and client records you enter— clients' names, phone numbers, email and postal addresses, appointment history, service notes, staff details, services, inventory, and financial records (sales, tips, expenses).
• Payment data — card payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers are sent directly to Stripe and are not stored on our servers. We retain a record of the amount, status, and a Stripe reference for each transaction.
• Support information — if you report a problem in-app, we collect your message, the page you were on, basic device information (model, OS, screen size), and an optional screenshot you trigger, so we can diagnose the issue.
• On-device only — Face ID / biometric unlock is handled entirely by your device; we never receive your biometric data. Appointment reminders are scheduled locally on your phone.

We do not use third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Basic Beauty offers an optional Face ID (biometric) app lock so you can require your face or fingerprint to open the app. This feature uses Apple's Local Authentication framework, which performs the match entirely on your device through the operating system and Secure Enclave.

• We do not collect, receive, or store any face data or other biometric data. Your biometric information never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
• The app only receives a simple success-or-failure result from the operating system when you unlock it. It never has access to your face scan, fingerprint, or any biometric template.
• Because no biometric data is collected, none is used, shared, sold, or retained by us. The feature is entirely optional and can be turned off at any time in the app's Profile settings.

• To provide and operate the service — your calendar, clients, payments, and reports.
• To send transactional messages you or your salon configure, such as appointment reminders and marketing campaigns to your own clients (over SMS and email).
• To process payments through Stripe.
• To provide customer support and fix bugs.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We share data only with service providers that help us run Basic Beauty:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — secure cloud hosting and database storage in the United States, plus email (SES) and SMS (SNS) delivery.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you sign up for a free trial and do not subscribe, we email you a warning when the trial ends and permanently delete the account and its data a further 7 days later. You can request deletion at any time (see your rights below). When an account is deleted, its associated records are removed.

• Access & export — you can export your clients, appointments, sales, and inventory as CSV from Settings.
• Correction — you can edit your account and records directly in the app.
• Deletion — you can request deletion of your account and data by emailing us at the address below.
• Marketing — recipients of campaign messages can opt out; you control which clients you message.

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Each salon's data is isolated at the database level using row-level security, so one salon can never see another's records. Access to production systems is restricted and audited.

Basic Beauty is a business tool intended for salon professionals and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
